Today I'm joining in Happy Homemaker's "Around the world in a day" link party! Today, expats all over the world will be writing about their home countries in a variety of ways, from photographic posts, musings on fashion and music and design etc. Given that I write about Portugal about 75% of the time, I knew it had to be something special and what better to use here than a scoop? Portuguese designers Munna Design are launching their newest armchairs (drool) at the Architectual Digest Home Show in New York and I've got a sneak peek for you! The result of their most recent labours are the Rose (fully upholstered in velvet that explores femininity - a rose found in enchanting gardens), which I could swear they've copied from one of my grandmother's old chairs and the leathery Soft and Creamy ottoman (with exquisite detiling on the sides which are hand tufted with buttons). So here you are, Portugal in a bite-sized chuck of modern design detailing. Enjoy!

Calling by from the Expat Linky Party, I am an English woman now living in Italy. It is great to meet you virtually, interesting but these armchairs look very old fashioned to me. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso calling by from the Expat Linky Party! I like these chairs. I like the old feel fused with the modern design. But I wonder how comfortable they'd be?
ReplyDelete@lindyloumac: thanks for stopping by! They do look a little old-fashioned don't they? I'm always interested in designers that take old patterns and update them, I love the way they've cut the back out of this chair.
ReplyDelete@iota: thanks for your visit! I can imagine sinking down intothepinkchair, it looks extremely well stuffed and bouncy. The velvet might cause some static though!
These are absolutely stunning. Something Audrey Hepburn might sit in for a chat?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining my Linky Party. It wouldn't have been the same without you! XOL
@happy homemaker thank you for stopping by!the party was such a success, thank you for inviting me! And yes, certain that Audrey would approve of these!
ReplyDeleteI too am from the link party, but I am still making my way through all the blogs! There's just so much to take in! :-)
ReplyDeletePortugal always looks like such a beautiful country, I should've visited it when I was still living in Europe!
