And now for something completely different. 2010 is officially the European Year Against Poverty so I was quite touched when I saw this entry for a National film contest. Called "The Soup", the short highlights the need to stop pretending that so many people in Portugal live below the poverty line. Apparently nearly 80% of pensioners fall into that category and this short is a very poignant way of showing just how far we'll go to ignore the truth.
