For more than three centuries there was a Catholic school in Portugal (called the "Convent of little English people" - Portuguese names do what they say on the tin) in Lisbon. It's now been converted into a luxury condominium but retains much of it's traditional charm. I love the stone cladding that's been left around the windows and the tiles on the walls. The interior has been made extremely bland which makes the period features like the shutters on the windows stand out. Although I'd add more colour, the building itself is perfect in my mind. In fact, given the "Portuguese living in England" nature of this blog, if I ever become a professional writer this should probably be my office...
