Living walls

Living walls hit the headlines in a big way recently with the launch of Europe's largest living wall in Anthropologie in London. However, they'd been slowly creeping into the limelight for some time prior to that. They're an excellent (and green!) way to add the "wow" factor to your home and if you're short on outdoor space, you could even populate one with lettuces in your kitchen to act as a living larder! You can now buy actual planters to nail to the walls (Woolly Pocket have a range that starts at $39 - strange naked lady laughing as she holds a fishbowl not included). While I love the styling idea of using old handbags as hanging baskets, I quite fancy a living wall in my bathroom so that I can pretend that I'm bathing in a lagoon in the jungle and that my rubber duck is really a brightly plumed exotic bird...but that might just be me. Either way, this has suddenly become a must-have for the new house.
