Pondering pantries

The pantry. Hardly the sexiest room in the house (although if you'd had one too many I suppose you could make it sound like panties...but that's just creepy) but an important one nonetheless. We're lucky enough to have a small room that we can use just as a larder for storage so I've been looking around for ideas. Without telling the Boyfriend. His eyes are liable to roll so far back that they get stuck if he hears me use the words "design inspiration" and "pantry" in the same sentence - especially about a small cupboard-shaped room that we're essentially going to shelve from ceiling to floor!

I love the neatness here (image from Country Living) but let's be honest, real people don't have matching bottles of everything. Nor is real food colour-coordinated and all packaged identically:

I like this idea from The Modern Pantry restaurant in London but surely all those shelves just mean more dusting?
