Crochet scarf

When most people dress for work, they think about looking professional. At the moment, all I'm thinking about is keeping warm! Scarves and fingerless mittens are the most important part of my outfit - to be frank, I feel like a modern day Fagin sitting at my desk. I just love this crochet scarf ($30) available from Craftaria, the Etsy shop for Portuguese designer Marta Costa's handmade work, so much so that I asked her to tell me a bit more about what she makes:
1. What do you make and what inspires you?
At the moment I do mainly crochet jewelry and accessories, but soon I will bring other kind of textile designs. As a young girl, I dreamed of being a fashion designer. I loved to customize my Barbie's clothes. I also learned crochet from my mother and grew up developing a passion for fabrics, textures and textile things in general. Years passed and despite my inclination towards the Arts I ended up with a degree in Psychology and only now, thanks to Etsy, I'm allowing myself to give life to my old passion. And I'm loving it!

2. What do you do when you're not crafting?
I knit some more! :) Beside my regular job (I work as photography editor's assistant in a magazine), I go out with my friends, do couch-cinema sessions or TV marathons consisting of fashion, house decoration and make-over programs. I love watching cooking programs too and prefer watching them to cooking myself!
3. What's your favourite piece?
My favourite pieces are the flower necklaces. I found them delicate, original and fresh yet sophisticated.

4. What's your most treasured possession?
My boyfriend. I guess he's not a "possession" but then again...
5. What are your plans for the future?
Well, in the near future I plan on taking a sewing workshop so I can expand my technical range and be able to start creating different pieces. I would also like to pay more attention to my blog.

6. Complete this sentence: "Happiness is..."
Love and be loved. Such a cliche, but it's true.
