I've never been a massive fan of scented candles. After all, who really wants their house to smell like "peaceful plum"? If I want to smell fruit, I'll sniff whatever cocktail I happen to be holding at the time. Pacifist fruit perfumes are not required in my home. However, few people can deny that a room lit by candles isn't fantastic. I've had my eye on a few candle holders for a while now (please see below). I've decided to focus on the humble tealight, often overlooked in this world of organic, fresh, locally sourced, handipped-by-virgins by the light of the harvest moon, finest beeswax candles. Tealights last for hours and you can buy 500 for about 50p from Ikea which means you can spend your savings on the holder. Hurrah for the tealight!

These
leaf lanterns are made from plant fibre & skeleton leaves treated with a fire retardant. They're stunning and (I think) well worth the £15 price tag (gulp...)
These
Candle lanterns (£9 for 10) would be lovely lining the path up to a house holding a garden party:

I already have one of these
Lombok candles (£10) at home but it's so pretty I'm including it anyway:

This
holder is made from rock salt and the candle glows through the sides. They're all selected randomly so a group on a shelf could look lovely:

And finally, a bit of drama from
Habitat (£55):
You next blog should be on air fresheners... noni always like a rant about how they inevitably smell like peaches and you end up with a roon stinking of peachy poos x
ReplyDeletethankyou very much for featuring our leaf lanterns and glad you like them - it was a lovely surprise to come across your post.
