I'm 26 but don't mind admitting that I'd really love to get my hands on another copy of that book. I fell in love with the stocky, wise little things and to this day, I'd rank a fat little owl way above more traditional kittens and puppies on the cuteness charts. I never collected owls in the way that my sister would buy anything penguin-y but they appear to be springing up all over the homewares world so I think I'm going to give in. Even their name is cool: owl is just a nice word to say. Owl owl owl owl owl.
Classic choice: Oliver Wise owl doorstop
He ain't heavy, he's my doorstop. A pretty owl doorstop covered in a heavy brocade with a black velveteen and satin trim. Wedges are clearly so passe. A snip at a very reasonable £19.50.
Cute choice: "O is for Owl" print from Mrs BoothThis minimalist print is adorable and would look great in a serene bedroom. £20.Modern choice: Owl jewellery
It took a while to find fat owl jewellery (I always think that the tall, thin owls look a bit mean) but I really want an owl necklace (I'd like silver but there's something tempting about a one-off vintage piece as below below). A brooch wouldn't go amiss either...
Quirky choice: Lambswool owl cushion
This knitted owl cushion would look perfect on a little armchair in the spare room. Again, the owl is serene in the knowledge of his wisdom. £69 from Abode - also available in green.

Crafted choice: Stuart the Owl - Christmas tree decoration
Keeping the Christmas theme going, I am in love with this fat little owl. He just looks so serene - he's clearly been at the roast parsnips! He's $10 from Cuore.
