Architecture: Vodafone building by Barbosa & Guimaraes

My architect friend Simon drew my attention to the recently completed Vodafone building in Porto (from Dezeen, photos from Nelson Garrido). It was designed by architects Jose António Barbosa and Pedro Guimarães of the Barbosa & Guimarães practice. The design decisions were made by the Board in conjunction with Porto City Council and some of the employees in 2006. Three years, 13.4 million euros and 240 desk installations later, this unusual building is now open for business. The aim was to construct an iconic building.
